Saudi Arabia, thousands of illegal immigrants arrested

Riyadh: The joint committee working against illegal immigrants in Saudi Arabia arrested more than 19,000 illegal immigrants in a week.

According to the Saudi Press Agency, the joint committee working against illegal immigrants said in a statement that these arrests took place between April 18 and April 24, 2024.

Among those arrested, 11,987 were involved in violation of Iqama laws, 4,367 were arrested in violation of border laws, and 2,696 were involved in violation of migrant labor laws.

According to the Joint Committee, 1011 people were arrested during the said period. Who were trying to enter the country illegally by crossing the border, of which 36 percent were Yemenis, 61 percent were Ethiopians and 3 percent were immigrants from other countries.
